Bristol, UK, April 25, 2012- Miro Technologies, the market leader for maintenance and logistics management of complex military assets, announced today a contract award from the Sultanate of Oman Ministry of Defence (MOD) to implement an integrated Joint Logistics Management Solution (JLMS) to manage supply, maintenance and transport business functions across Oman MOD Services. The new tri-service logistics programme, named Jadwal, will feature GOLDesp as the central logistics application.
Miro Technologies is prime contractor for all implementation services, including an extensive training programme, testing, data conversion and go-live support. Miro will be working as an integrated team with the office of the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and Ernst & Young to deliver the JLMS solution. Miro will establish a programme office in Muscat to support the project, adding to its presence in the Middle East region.
Commenting on the contract award, Vincent Monteparte, President & CEO of Miro Technologies said, “we are proud to have been selected by the Oman MOD for this crucial project. The selection process was a thorough and rigorous examination of our solution and capabilities as a company.” Oman MOD, working with Ernst & Young, looked at all aspects of Miro’s applications, implementation procedures, and also visited reference customer sites during the evaluation process. “GOLDesp now stands as the number one logistics software package that can be implemented today as a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) project for use as a common solution across multiple military services for multiple asset types,” he added.
Jadwal will implement a system to be used to manage all assets and transport management services across the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), Royal Army of Oman (RAO), MOD Engineering Service (MODES), Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and National Survey Authority (NSA).
Jadwal will leverage the GOLDesp mobile module, deploying GOLDesp on rugged PDAs for maintenance data capture and supply functionality such as warehouse receiving and issuing. The MODES team will take advantage of this mobile functionality for facilities management.
Jadwal also encompasses transport management and graphical situational awareness display. Miro has teamed with Boeing’s Tapestry Solutions to implement Dashtop for transport planning and management, integrated tightly with GOLDesp. Added to this is the industry-leading Inventory Optimization solution from Servigistics. The scope is completed with a configured Oracle Bl suite, with reports and dashboards, document scanning for all services into a configured MS Sharepoint database.
