SAN DIEGO, March 12, 2013 – Tapestry Solutions announced that GOLDesp Version 13 is expected to be released for general availability to customers in late April. Version 13 is Tapestry’s major baseline release for 2013 that represents over 42,000 man-hours to-date of product development activity.
This latest release introduces exciting new functionality to better manage Alerts, Requisitions, TAV, Reporting and Analytics, Inventory Management and Technical Orders. Additionally, a variety of usability enhancements have been incorporated. All customers in the GOLDesp community are able to gain access to new functionality initiated by Miro or added on behalf of other customers.
New GOLDesp Messaging Center
GOLDesp now has the ability to send Alerts directly to users when noteworthy events occur during various processes. This is a great alternative to the existing method of using email for Alerts. Users interested in receiving a given Alert will simply subscribe to that Alert and GOLDesp will include them in the distribution list when the communication is sent out. Users have the option of taking delivery of the communication through either email or Message Center. When Message Center is chosen, users can monitor or react to the Alert from directly within GOLDesp. On the Message Center, users can review their Alerts and take necessary actions. This prevents users from having to search for upcoming issues, since the application automatically alerts the user.
FMS MILS Requisitioning
Tapestry has extended MILSTRIP capabilities to provide support for requisitioning against US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Cases. These capabilities have been integrated with the new Funds Management capabilities that can be used to capture the data associated with FMS Cases and Sub Cases, and track commitments and expenditures against a customer’s FMS Trust Fund. All standard requisitioning capabilities are supported, including requisition creation, status updates, order splits, and cancellations by either the requisitioner or the Source of Supply. MILSTRAP transportation transactions (i.e. DIC XD*) are also supported, permitting the tracking of components from Sources of Supply, through Freight Forwarders to final receipt at a customer’s facilities.
Equipment Status Board
A new Equipment Status Board (ESB) has been incorporated to provide details of non-aircraft items with primary accessibility constraints based on Category of Instrument ‘Aircraft’ indicator. From the ESB, users can perform common transactions against individual items and drill into their associated item records to perform review and update functions. Additionally, the ESB displays icons to indicate both the equipment ‘status’ and ‘type’ of equipment.
Total Asset Visibility
The TAV screen has been upgraded to a new and improved user interface. In addition to supporting the functionality previously provided, there are improved capabilities for navigating and inquiring against related parts using any of the available alternate part definition schemes.
New BI, Analytics & Reporting Tool
Tapestry has integrated the Pentaho Business Analytics 4.5 Suite with GOLDesp to provide customers a state-of-the-art Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics solution. GOLDesp v13 includes standard, embedded Maintenance and Supply reports available through the new Pentaho BI interface. Also included is the Analysis & Analyzer module as part of all GOLDesp installations. Single Sign-On will be integrated to enable a seamless transition between GOLDesp and the BI tool kit. The GOLDesp BI platform provides critical data visualizations, including scheduling and content navigation, all in one central place to streamline management data analysis and administrative tasks. GOLDesp security rules will be enforced within the BI tool kit.
Customers will have the option to add the GOLDesp Business Objects Data Dictionary and a collection of standard GOLDesp dashboard widgets. Miro will offer to customize reports and BI dashboards and provide data model training to customers as well.
By incorporating the new third-party, open-source BI suite, customers will benefit from a very powerful decision support tool and be aligned to optimize the support chain through high data visibility between maintenance and supply across multiple organizations. By delivering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in a intuitive graphical visual interface, new dashboards give business users the critical information they need to understand and improve organizational performance.
Interactive Reporting is a web-based drag-and-drop report designer tool. Reporting capabilities span the entire continuum from self-service interactive reporting for casual business users, to high-volume, highly formatted enterprise reporting. The Analysis & Analyzer module includes OLAP and data mining capabilities. The powerful, state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms and data processing tools enable customers to uncover meaningful patterns and correlations that may otherwise be hidden with standard analysis and reporting.
Report of Item Discrepancy (ROID)
A ROID is used to report a problem with an item of inventory or with a shipment. GOLDesp has added the capability to create a ROID, both through user input and automatically during receiving. A ROID will be generated during receiving if the quantity shipped by the Source of Supply differs from the quantity shipped, or if the received components are damaged or received with inadequate or improper documentation. ROIDS may be tracked through the enterprise until the deficiency is properly resolved. Historical data is maintained for all completed ROIDS.
ROIDS are closely associated with Supply Deficiency Reports (US DOD Standard Form 364). If a user creates and opens a ROID against a shipment from the US DOD, the referenced Standard Form 364 can be generated from the application in PDF format. The form may be transmitted to the DOD Source of Supply by fax or e-mail attachment.
Material Time Compliance Technical Order
This modification provides the ability to manage Material Time Compliance Technical Orders (MTCTOs) within GOLDesp using a combination of Material Management and Work Step functionality. One of the primary elements of this new capability is the ability to perform compliance actions against non-tracked / non-serialized items. Additionally, this modification provides the ability to automatically roll multiple part numbers through the completion of a Work Order.
Usability Enhancements
Results Filtering – On screens where a “grid” of data is displayed, the built-in column filtering capability has been enhanced to support a more robust range of comparison operators, allowing for greater flexibility in fine-tuning a query result.
Flex Field Configurator – This new desktop allows customers to manage their own configurations for Flex Fields definitions. Flex Fields are GOLDesp’s mechanism for allowing customers to add attributes to a primary data object without requiring a modification to the GOLDesp application. Flex Fields are available on most of the primary data objects, like Parts, Items, Work Orders, etc.
Queue Management Desktop – This new desktop allows customers to view and manage the status of all background queues. It includes a graphical display showing a summary of all queues, with color coding to indicate current status. When viewing status of a single queue, you now have the ability to filter transactions and multi-select as necessary, when deleting or re-trying transactions.
Multiple Part Update – The Part Maintenance screen has been enhanced to support the selection of multiple Parts for a common update. Many, but not all, of the existing Part fields can be updated using this mechanism, including the associated Flex Fields.
