SAN DIEGO, February 18, 2015 — Tapestry Solutions, a subsidiary of The Boeing Company [NYSE:BA], was awarded a subcontract by Superlative Technologies, Inc. to develop, deliver, test, and field applications in support of the Air Mobility Command’s (AMC) efforts to improve software using an agile development process. The five-year contract includes improving current applications and creating new applications to support global air operations, including air refueling missions and airlift missions for moving cargo and passengers.
Tapestry Solutions’ applications will support AMC in planning and executing complex missions. Development of the applications will align with AMC’s agile software plan to use a common enterprise architecture containing service oriented architecture (SOA), event driven architecture (EDA), and software composition and mash-up using software components to pull from multiple sources creating a single new interface. The single interface connecting modernized legacy software will create a more efficient system for AMC users. It will save time and resources, while creating a more accurate system to manage missions.
Work will take place at a contractor site near Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The contract is scheduled to be completed in 2019.
