Bristol, UK – February 1, 2012 – Miro Technologies, the market leader for sustainment of complex military assets, announced today a contract award from Boeing Defence UK to implement a GOLDesp solution for the Engineering Management Information Technology System (EMITS) project continues to expand Miro’s role as subcontractor to Boeing Defence UK in the Logistics Network Enabled Capability (LogNEC) programme.
The EMITS system is used to manage all engineering maintenance required by Logistics Services, part of the Logistics Commodities and Services (LCS) Operating Centre. It is a single tasking, scheduling and planning application that enables the recording of all tasks associated with inventory that require work, are being worked on, or have work carried out. EMITS will be configured to support Technical Services Business Stream (TSBS) needs.
Logistics Services’ (LS) main customers are Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) PTs managing the support of the UK MOD’s fleets of ships, aircraft and vehicles, their munitions and equipments. LS manages a comprehensive range of storage, processing and distribution tasks on behalf of its customers in defence and industry, responsible for an inventory of 752,671 lines, valued at £14.5 billion.
Miro Technologies serves as a prime subcontractor to Boeing Defence UK in the fulfillment of LogNEC, a programme that assists the MOD in the transformation of its end-to-end logistic support chain and integrates more than 200 software applications.
